Frida
met Ruzzo Reuss in 1984. Two years later they moved into together, finally
getting married in Hørsholm, Denmark in 1992. For much of the time, they lived in
Fribourg, Switzerland but for the last 6 months of his life, they lived in
Skåne, Sweden. They both shared a passion for golf which was reflected in
Ruzzo's occupation - golf course architect.
Ruzzo was born in Rome, Italy in 1950. He grew up in Rome but used to spend summers in Skåne with his mother. As a teenager, he attended boarding school in Värmland, Sweden. It was at this time he became good friends with Carl Gustaf, currently Sweden's king.
Ruzzo inherited the title of prince from his father. His family ruled the Reuss sovereignty in the former East Germany up until 1918. It is by marrying Ruzzo that Frida became a princess.
Six months ago, Ruzzo was diagnosed with cancer but this only known to family and close friends. He passed away on 29 October 1999 surrounded by family and friends. Ruzzo leaves behind Frida and his two daughters from a previous marriage, Henriette and Pauline.
